Misplaced Iranian General: The Saga Continues

Hot Air notes that the Missing Iranian general may be in the U.S., according to Asharq Al-Awsat, an Arab newspaper. Hot Air goes on to say:

"... the missing general, Asgari, was involved in nuclear work, but the reports about that thus far seem thin. What everyone does agree on is that he was heavily involved with Hezbollah in Lebanon throughout the 1990s. Assuming he was abducted, that would make Mossad a primer suspect than the CIA given Israel’s greater need for intelligence in that area. Or would it? Asgari’s expertise with Hezbollah would be useful in training the militias in Iraq.

The Jerusalem Post reports that Iran accuses West for general's kidnap. If the General is truly AWOL, then Iran has a great deal to be concerned about.

Reports from the Arab media suggested that the Mossad and the CIA were behind Asgari's disappearance. Israel has denied involvement in the general's disappearance, but The Daily Telegraph speculated on Monday that Asgari could have been abducted by Israel to shed light on the whereabouts of missing IAF navigator Ron Arad, who Israel has claimed might have been held at one point by Iran.

It isn't very hard to imagine why one would flee a middle eastern regime. It was reported only today that Iran to hang teenage girl attacked by rapists, and in Saudi Arabia, Gang-rape victim faces lashes. If this despicable news gets reported on a daily basis, then what does not get reported leaves very little to the imagination.
