300 Fans speak

LOS ANGELES -- Fandango, the online, phone and mobile movie ticketing service, reports that seats are going fast for the highly-anticipated action-adventure epic, "300."

The movie is accounting for:

-- Ninety-two percent of all weekly ticket sales on Fandango
--Sold-out Thursday midnight shows at every IMAX screen in Fandango's nationwide network.
--Hundreds of sold-out Friday and Saturday shows at Fandango theaters throughout the country.

According to a recent poll, 76 percent of respondents indicate they plan to see the movie on opening weekend.

In another Fandango poll, thousands of moviegoers identified the main factor that makes them want to see "300." The top results include:

--Thirty-one percent are action-adventure fans.
--Twenty-one percent say it's the Frank Miller graphic novel, upon which the movie is based.
--Seventeen percent identify star Gerard Butler and the rest of the cast.
--Fourteen percent say they love seeing movies in IMAX.
--Four percent are drawn by director Zack Snyder's previous work (including his "Dawn of the Dead" remake).
