Go tell the Israeli-Arabs, passerby

... that in Israel, obedient to her laws, they lie.

That may sound like nonsense if you haven't watched the film 300 yet. But consider this:

TEL AVIV, Israel, March 13 (UPI) -- Almost two-thirds of Israeli Arabs are afraid that some of their communities would be transferred to a future Palestinian state.

A poll by Haifa University's dean of social studies, Sammy Smooha, showed that 60 percent of the Israeli-Arabs fear a mass expulsion. Sixty-eight percent of the Jews are concerned about Arab civil disobedience.

Nevertheless, Israeli Arabs want to remain Israeli citizens, Smooha found according to Haaretz. "The findings show...clearly that the Arabs in Israel are closely connected to life in Israel, see their future as being part of the state and under no circumstances want to become part of the Palestinian state," he added.

This news is both heartening and worrisome. If Israeli Arabs don't trust Palestinians to run their own country, what hope does peace have?
