Despite all these dead terrorists... we're losing?

The U.S. military reported the death of Abu Ayyub al-Masri, Zarqawi's successor/replacement.

Who will replace him? Not Al-Baghdadi:

According to the Iraqi government, Abu Omar Al-Baghdadi, the head of the top Al Qaeda group in Iraq, was killed today.

Most notably, al-Masri was apparently killed by his own fellow terrorists.

But wait, there's more:

The U.S. military also reports that Muharib Abdul-Latif al-Jubouri, al-Qaeda's Information Minister, has also been killed. More here from the New York Times. More from Powerline, too.

The deaths of Al-Baghdadi and al-Masri are as yet 100% unconfirmed, but two bodies are being held.

All this evidence makes it more clear that when General Petraeus talks of progress in the fight against the terrorists in Iraq, he should be believe, not mocked by journalists or slandered by wind bag politicians [Seething rage: Murtha's utterly falsely claims that Petraeus wouldn't meet with Congressmen when Petraeus in fact met with Murtha himself!

Hot Air:

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) this week criticized Gen. David Petraeus for not meeting with members of Congress during a recent visit to Washington, D.C., to report on the status of operations in Iraq, but not only did the commander of Multinational Force - Iraq meet with hundreds of lawmakers, he personally briefed Murtha himself.

The hypocrisy is almost laughable if one did not stop to realize that many Americans heard Murtha and took him at his word.

When a Democratic Congressman so boldly lies in front of the camera, when a Democratic majority leader utters a war is lost with troops still on the ground, for political gain, is it any wonder that these same Democrats backed down on their own timetable for withdrawal? And this only after a futile attempt to override the President's veto, when they knew they did not have the votes! How many names can you call that? Political games? Pandering? Wasting time? Rather, the Democrats are falling over themselves to prove to their anti-war base that they are the party of peace.

If the Democrats only fought so hard to support the troops and the war on fanatical Islamic terrorists, perhaps the very terrorists themselves would not rejoice at our political disaster. What, you ask? Rejoice? Please keep your hyperbole at bay!

No, I kid you not. "So now read the official al Qaida response to Sen. Harry Reid’s declaration that the war is lost," writes the eminent Victor Davis Hanson:

“This comes on the heels of an important statement by House Majority Leader Harry Reid who previously said, “The Iraqi war is hopeless and the situation in Iraq is same as it was in Vietnam.”

Then came Bush’s stupid statement where he emphasized that his strategic goal in Iraq is more than a military victory but also to prevent the Mujahideen from benefiting from the fruits of the Jihad to ultimately achieve victory.

This is how the cross worshipping occupiers and their henchmen live. Their morale continues to collapse as the result of the increasing strikes of the Mujahideen, carried out by the grace of Allah. From downing their aircraft to penetrating their fortified Green Zone and targeting the heads of apostasy and agents, all this has pushed the American army to repeat what it did in Vietnam.”

al Qaeda knows it, most Republicans know it. Heck - Democratic Senator Joseph Lieberman knows it. CNN even knows it! [CNN: It Will Be A Disaster If U.S. Follows Dem Plan And Leaves Iraq Too Early ]

If the Democrats don't get it, what else are they missing?
